Schlegel Electronic Materials Announces new test method and fixture for RF shielding gaskets to 40 GHz
Schlegel Electronic Materials, in collaboration with FMEC laboratory – KUL in Belgium, developed the Stripline testing fixture. The new method and testing configuration provides a means of delivering, in a repeatable way, shielding effectiveness data for small gaskets in the frequency range of 0.1-40 GHz .
This new measuring set-up will be supported in the near future by a new standard from SAE International ( SAE ARP 6248).
This work will complete current standards available to the gaskets manufacturing community, which were previously covering testing up to 18 GHz only. Under specific conditions, the FCC regulation for radiated emission requests the testing of various systems to 40 GHz.
As a leader and innovator in RF shielding and thermal interface solutions, Schlegel Electronic Materials (SEM) continues to advance technology in support of global RF shielding, thermal management requirements and related testing.
Schlegel Electronic Materials is a member of the EMEI Group, a global provider of electronic materials and innovative solutions.
